Report begging
There are a minority of people in our towns and cities who ask people for money.
You may find begging for money distressing and intimidating, especially if the beggar becomes persistent.
Report a person who is begging
If possible, provide a description of the beggar and where they are located when making a report. You can report a person who is begging:
- online — fill in the suspected crime form
- by phone — call 101
- in person — visit a police station
Ongoing anti-social behaviour
A Community Trigger can be requested if you have reported a persistent problem to the council, police or housing provider and feel action has not been taken. Find out about requesting a Community Trigger.
