Publication scheme
We use a publication scheme to publish the information people need to help them understand who we are, what we spend, and what we achieve.
The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requires all public authorities to adopt a publication scheme approved by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). The ICO provides guidance and a definition document for police forces, which we have adopted as the model for our publication scheme. We aim to proactively make information available and ensure it is published in line with the ICO’s requirements.
Information classes
Information available under the publication scheme is grouped under the following information classes:
- who we are and what we do
- what we spend and how we spend it
- the services we provide (needs adding)
- how we make decisions
- our priorities and how we are doing
- our policies and procedures
- our lists and registers
Requesting information
We publish a considerable amount of information on our website to make it easily accessible. If you can’t find the information you need, you can make a Freedom of Information request.
Feedback
If you have any feedback, complaints, or suggestions to improve and expand our publication scheme, send them to: foirequests@avonandsomerset.police.uk
