ASB Cale Park and Cemetery Lane

We are continuing to receive reports of drug related incidents in and around Cale Park and Cemetery Lane in Wincanton. It has been noted that there are groups of people hanging around the Cemetery late at night and the following morning empty beer bottles found in and around the Cemetery. We are actively increasing our patrols and targeting certain areas of concern. We will engage with the public in order to gather further intelligence and provide reassurance.

    I am pleased to report that the Anti Social Behaviour incidents in the Recreation Ground have reduced. However, we are continuing to conduct regular patrols in Cale Park and liaise regularly with the Town Council in order to tackle any Anti social behaviour issues.

    The Wincanton Neighbourhood Policing team have conducted several evening patrols in the park and have some positive engagement with members of the local Community. We would like to thank the public for their continued assistance in reporting to us any anti social behaviour witnessed.

    There has been further reports of ASB incidents in Cale Park and in particular around Cemetery Lane. It has been noted that there is evidence of smashed bottles and attempts to start small fires. This is a nuisance and a danger to the community and we therefore urge the Public to report any anti social behaviour they have witnessed to 101 or 999 respectively.

    We will engage with the public in order to gather further intelligence and provide reassurance.

    We are pleased to report that the ASB incidents in the park has dropped significantly. We wish to thank members of the Community for their time to report any anti social behaviour they have witnessed and we will endeavour to provide a visible presence.

    The Wincanton Neighbourhood Policing Team have continued to patrol the Recreation Park on foot alongside regular mobile patrols of the surrounding areas. Positive feedback has been received from various members of the public in relation to fewer ASB (in general) activities noted since the summer months.

    For the past few weeks the Wincanton Neighbourhood Policing Team have been on cycle patrol continuing to show a visible presence in the Recreation Park whilst engaging with the Community.
    The NPT have engaged in regular discussions with the local younger people of the community with a view to obtaining their ideas on what leisure facilities would be beneficial in the Park. We would like to thank them for their feedback so far and we will forward these opinions to the relevant organisations.

    Over the last month the Wincanton Neighbourhood Policing Team have been carrying out extensive patrols in and around the Wincanton Recreation Ground area. They have engaged with numerous members of the Public and local young people.

    The high visibility of the Officers has had a positive effect in terms of providing reassurance and educating the community about what constitutes as Anti social behaviour and what needs to be reported.

    The NPT appreciate all the information received to date and encourage the Community to please continue to report any ASB related incidents to 101 0r 999 respectively.
