Anti-social behaviour around East Street & North St, Bedminster
Greater Bedminster Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) have noticed an increase of Anti-Social Behaviour within the area. We will be working with other partner agencies in a bid to reduce anti-social behaviour and traffic issues in and around East Street and North Street, Bedminster, Bristol.
Partner agencies include:
- Bristol City Council
- Parking Services
Examples of the types of anti-social behaviour reported to police are:
- people being drunk in public spaces
- Anti-Social Behaviour from youths
- loud and erratic shouting
- illegal parking
- using insulting behaviour and being abusive
PC 1892 Olszewski suggests “This anti-social behaviour has a negative effective, not only to local pedestrians and residents but it also attracts other anti-social and illegal activities, which compounds the issues police have to deal with”.

Traffic Enforcement activity carried out by NPT – tickets issued and some driver education offered.
More dates planned in the future – responding to requests from local community – when we will be tackling other issues like mopeds on footpaths and parking obstructions.

On Tuesday 28th September 2021, both the NPT and Trading Standards visited Ezee Shop and Zabka International on East Street to issue Closure Notices, resulting in the stores having to close with immediate effect. The application to be heard at Bristol Magistrates Court in Bristol on Thursday 30th September 2021.
A copy of the Closure Notices were attached to each of the stores shop front shutters for public information.
PC 869 Ingram stated “This will send a very visible message to other premises around the surrounding area whose illegal activity supporting anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. Police, along with Trading Standards, will take positive action if warnings are not adhered to”.
On Thursday 30th September 2021 Bristol City Magistrates Court found in favour of Trading Standards in accordance with section 80 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
Zabka International and Ezee Shop were both given three month Closure Orders and both premises ordered to pay costs of £4,000.
This was achieved as a result of the Greater Bedminster NPT working in partnership with Trading Standards over a 12 month period.
PC 869 Ingram believes “It is great to see Bristol’s Magistrates Court supporting local partner agencies within Bedminster, who through working together over a 12 month period, are making our local communities safe and enjoyable places to live and visit”.
The Greater Bedminster NPT will continue to monitor Anti-social Behaviour and its knock on affects within the local community and will deal with all reports positively.
