Anti-social behaviour Collett Park Shepton Mallet
We have recently been having reports of Anti Social Behaviour in Collett Park by youths after school hours. This has included noise complaints and fires in some of the bins around the park and in the brick shelter. The town team have been doing visible patrols in Collett Park on both our early and late shifts. If you do see the team around the area feel free to approach us and have a talk about any concerns or issues. If you ever come across any issues within the park you can record this online or call 101 to record the crime.

We still receive occasional reports of Anti-social behaviour, but overall we are happy to see that the park is really turning in to a community hub. Our foot patrols continue in the park so if you see us it’s not necessarily due to any incident taking place. Feel free to say hello and advise us of any concerns that you may have.

Everyone in Shepton Mallet is looking forward to the opening of the new play area in Collet Park. Unfortunately, some eager people have been breaking down fences to get at unfinished play equipment.
Please be aware that this is a building site. The play equipment has not been installed and signed off. Even if it looks safe to play on – IT IS NOT SAFE

Shepton Police are engaging closely with Shepton Town Council who have been provided with email addresses and phone numbers to contact local officers. We look forward to continuing this relationship and partnering with residents and regular users of the park. Meanwhile, continued patrols are deterring casual vandalism and graffiti.

The Town team have been focusing our patrols recently around Collett park as we have had reports of smashed glass and the inappropriate usage of the two shelters in the park. We have been gathering the data/calls and have met up with the town council to discuss future plans with the park and what could everyone improve on. We recommend that all reports are reported to both the police and park ranger so that we can get a better idea on what is happening. We will continue to monitor this and patrol on both day and late shifts.
If you ever come across any issues within the park, you can record this online or call 101 to record the crime.

We have patrolled Collett Park on both late and early shifts and engage with members of the public.
We have seen an incline in the use of e-scooters within Collett Park so we are taking details so that we educate and help youths with the rules and regulations. Second time of being spoken to will result in seizure of the scooter due to it being illegal to ride with the knowledge of the rules explained already.
If you ever come across any issues within the park you can record this online or call 101 to record the crime.
