Anti-Social Behaviour and Criminal Damage Hive Community Centre Peasedown St John.

Youths gathering in the early evenings around the Hive Community Centre Bath Road Peasedown St John.  Staff and centre users have been subjected to abuse from youths mainly aged around 14yrs. Damage has been done to doors locks and post boxes and glass bottles smashed around the building.  This has been happening on a regular basis.

    No reports of any ASB issues in the past couple of weeks, patrols will continue.

  • 3 May 2023

    Patrols are continuing as we still have youths gathering at the Hive and causing ASB including climbing on the roof and being abusive to staff and users. The Hive is not a play park, and anyone seen in the grounds of the Hive without a good reason will be asked to leave. We are working with the youth club to reduce the ASB.

  • 5 February 2023

    We have had a report of ASB at the Hive, youths have smashed several glass bottles around the building.  The incident took place around 7:30pm Sunday 29th Jan.  It is understood that CCTV footage might be available to help in identifying those responsible. Officers are waiting for a copy of the footage to be made available.

    No reports of ASB around the Hive in recent weeks, however we are aware of youths hanging around the convenience store and asking members of the public to purchase alcohol for them. Please be aware that it is an offence to procure alcohol for persons under the age of 18.

    Unfortunately, we had an incident of a small group of young people disturbing a class at the Hive.  We will be carrying out patrols in the evenings and would ask users of the Hive to report any ASB incidents by calling 101.

    No reported incidents of criminal damage or ASB in recent weeks, patrols will continue but this priority will now be closed.

    Sadly, we have had reports that some glass bottles have been taken from the recycling bins at the Hive and thrown onto the Bath Road. Thanks to a community spirited member of the public the glass was swept up before it could do any damage.  If you have information regarding this incident please contact a member of your Neighbourhood Policing Team.

    Sadly, graffiti has been scrawled on the Hive Community Centre, however the person responsible has been identified and dealt with.

    We have not had any reports of ASB around the Hive Community Centre in the past two months.  We will continue patrols for the time being.

    The parents of those identified by Neighbourhood Officers as responsible have now paid for damage caused earlier this year.  No further issues reported in recent weeks.

    Six individuals involved in the ASB have been identified. Parents have been contacted by police, and in some cases, we have sent out ASB warning letters. Arrangements have been made for some of the damaged caused to be paid for by those responsible.

  • 4 February 2022

    CCTV has been viewed and individuals identified and dealt with. Neighbourhood Officers are visiting parents of those young people involved.
