Minehead ZIPP Scooter Trial

We are working closely with the ZIPP Scooter team to ensure the use of scooters is monitored.

We are working hard to engage and educate riders and where necessary issue penalty notices and riders being banned from using the scooters in the future.  A reminder also that private e-scooters can be seized if used on public roads

We take all complaints and concerns seriously, any misuse that can be deemed an offence can be reported via 101 or 999 dependent on urgency. Comments and suggestions can go to info@zippmobility.comcy.

    The trial in Minehead is continuing.

    Recently the team in Minehead joined the Zipp team for an education event which was held on the sea front.

    We are continuing to work very closely with Zipp around the use of the e-scooters in Minehead.

    Misuse seen by us and reported to us from the public has significantly decreased however those misusing are continuing to be educated.

    Actions are being taken around the use of the e-scooters around adult breaks.

    The trial continues in Minehead and we are continuing to work very closely with Zipp Mobility and Somerset West and Taunton Council to ensure the safe running of the trial.

    Misuse reported to us has decreased over the last few month and we hope that people continue to use the e-scooters in the correct and appropriate manner. We are still engaging and educating those who misuse the scooters and where needed will enforcing.

    The use of private e-scooters remains illegal on public highways.

    The misuse of the e-scooters has reduced over the past few weeks and we are seeing less people riding against the rules.

    We have worked in partnership with Zipp, SWaT and Minehead Bid to introduce the new trifold Zipp signs within the town that have the usage rules on them to further educate the riders.

    Any misuse continues to be acted upon by the police and Zipp mobility. Comments, reports of misuse and suggestions can be sent into info@zippmobility.com.

    In relation to the use of the illegal private e-scooters, one has been seized due to its illegal use. The use of the private e-scooters remains illegal on public highways at this time and users can risk having theirs seized if being used illegally.

    Since the beginning of the trial numerous tickets have been issued by officers to those using the e-scooters in an illegal manner.

    We continue to engage and educate with riders around the laws of the e-scooters and provided reassurance to the community by holding 2 events in conjunction with Zipp and Somerset West and Taunton Council

    We have also issued official warnings to users of private e-scooters who will have their scooters seized if seen riding the scooters again
