Anti-Social Behaviour

Local traders in Westbury High Street and Canford Lane reporting groups of youths gathering during late afternoon and early evenings, riding bicycles in the Carlton Court location putting shoppers at risk of harm (some of which are elderly) and behaving in an antisocial manner towards shop retailers. Further reports received state the same youths are responsible for climbing on the flat roofs of Lloyds and HSBC Banks at the rear of the Coop carpark on Westbury Court Road.

High Visibility Foot Patrols will be maintained at specified times, any youths identified causing ASB will be dealt with appropriately and depending on the severity of their actions could face potential prosecution.

Now that most Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted, all retail outlets have now opened again. This has increased footfall on the high streets and in shopping precincts dramatically. Retailers on Henleaze High street and in Westbury village may notice a minor increase in ASB as a result. We would advise any such activity to be reported to police on 101.

Due to the increase in volume of people on the high street, an increased police presence will be made to ensure business security, peace of mind for public and to ensure remaining Covid legislation and guidelines are being followed.
