Report fly-tipping and fly-posting
Fly-tipping is the illegal deposit of any waste onto land, or any waste dumped or tipped on a site with no licence to accept waste. Fly-posting is the practice of putting up unauthorised advertising posters in public places.
Report fly-tipping
On private land
If fly-tipping is in progress, call 101. If possible, provide:
- the make, model and registration of any vehicle(s) involved
- a description of any person(s) involved
If fly-tipping has taken place on private land, you can report it:
- online – by filling in our crime and incident form
- by phone – call 101
- in person – visit a police station
On public land
If fly-tipping has taken place on public land or in a public place, you must report it to your local council.
Report fly-posting
If you spot fly-posting in your area, report it to your local council.
