The A370 at Brunel Way is closed at its junction with the Long Ashton Bypass, Bristol, following a two-car collision at 6pm on Sunday 27 November.

It involved a grey BMW 318d travelling outbound and a black Audi A4 heading into Bristol.

Four people have gone to hospital following the collision. Their families are aware and are being supported.

The driver of the BMW has injuries described as potentially life-threatening.

The driver of the Audi has potentially life-changing injuries. The front-seat passenger has injuries which are neither life-threatening nor life-changing and we’re awaiting an update on the back-seat passenger.

Fire and ambulance crews have now left the scene but the road is closed pending collision investigation and recovery of the vehicles.

Closures are in place at the junctions of the Long Ashton bypass with the A4174 Colliters Way and with Brunel Way. Traffic can still join Winterstoke Road from Brunel Way but we’d ask people to avoid the area if possible.

We expect the closures to remain in place for some time and ask people to check before travelling and allow extra time for their journeys.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw or has dashcam footage of either vehicle in the moments before the collision. If you can help, please call get in touch.
