Community Risk Register

The Community Risk Register (CRR) enables the community to be better prepared to cope during an emergency and to recover more quickly.

It includes the emergency services, health services, Maritime and Coastal Agency, Environment Agency, volunteer agencies, utility companies, transport providers and the five Councils of Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

What is the Community Risk Register?

The CRR provides information on emergencies that could happen within the Avon and Somerset area, together with an assessment of how likely they are to happen and the impacts if they do.

The Community Risk Register is the responsibility of the Avon and Somerset Local Resilience Forum (LRF).

The forum is a multi-agency partnership of different organisation’s including the emergency services, health services, Maritime and Coastal Agency, Environment Agency, voluntary agencies, utility companies, transport providers and local councils.

They aim to:

  • plan and prepare for emergencies
  • deliver an effective and efficient response to an emergency
  • support and enable communities
  • prepare for and increase resilience to emergencies.

The Avon and Somerset area is hugely diverse between areas, the environment and social groups; this is why the area is a unique and vibrant place to live and work. The same range of diversity is true about the risks faced.

Your local area

While there are some risks which may affect anyone regardless of geography, there are some geographic areas where the risk is higher for certain incidents.

To find out if you are affected by any of the risks, please refer to your local council’s emergency information.
