Specialist Independent Advisory Groups (IAGs)

Specialist Independent Advisory Groups focus on a specific thematic area of policing or community interest.

Young Person’s IAG

The Young Person’s IAG, is set to make a real difference in the relationship between young people, their communities and the police. It is led by young people, for young people and is a safe space to talk about issues and strategies.

The group discuss everything from stop and search laws and statistics, to county lines, knife and gang crime, radicalisation and issues of trust in policing. As well as regular meetings, members will have the chance to see policing in action, take part in training and review best practice with officers.

Members age from 16-24 and our aim is to represent a diverse range of cultures, locations and experiences. We are looking to recruit, contact us to express an interest.
