Coronavirus (COVID-19): the policing response and what you need to know

Book a fingerprint appointment


Due to COVID-19 there may be a delay in the Fingerprinting Services team contacting you to book your appointment.


Appointments are Monday to Thursday, between 9:00am and 12:00pm.

We will contact you by email within five working days of you completing the booking form to confirm the date and time of your appointment.


  • First set of fingerprints costs £97.32
  • Subsequent sets cost £48.60
  • There will be no reduction in cost for a single digit 
  • Payment by debit or credit card will be required at the time of booking

Make sure you book all the sets of fingerprints you require.

Cancellation of appointment

If you are unable to attend your appointment please inform us as soon as possible, using the contact details provided when your appointment was confirmed. We are happy to rearrange appointments if necessary subject to availability.

If the appointment is no longer required or you are unexpectedly unable to attend, a refund process can be requested but a minimum administrative fee of £5 will be retained.

After 14 days of the missed appointment, you will not be able to request a refund.

Documents required

You need to bring photo identification with you to use the service (photocopies will not be accepted). You can bring either:

  • a current passport
  • a photo card driving licence

Appointments with Fingerprinting Services take place at Police and Fire Headquarters in Portishead.
